Yes I would agree it's too yellow by comparison, though maybe the flash has exacerbated things a little?

As an alternative, wasn't the Nimrod AEW.3 all over hemp at one point? Might that help with the colour quandary?

I'll try an overall light grey wash on the radomes before I remask it and repaint them totally.

Randomes look like unpainted resin to my eyes, and we all know what they are like

I've manufactured a paint mix that looks a bit better than Humbrol's idea of 'Radome tan' with a mix of Light Aircraft Grey and Khaki Francaise. Yeah, I know it sounds weird, but it looks a bit better.

I've scratched up a couple of pylons for the two self defence 'winders I plan to hang under the outer wings too, and both the 'winders and the Harpoons have been primed. Should be ready for some white paint in a bit, as  many coats as needed anyway. The Hasgewa Harpoons look LOADS  better than the much vaunted ResKit ones, I'm pleased to say.

I'm getting near the decal stage as fitting the engines will have to wait until they're on. They're right in line with where the decals go as the DH125 is such a close coupled aeroplane.

Here's a repainted radome'd Dragon with its weapons load in front of it.

The radomes are actually more grey than they look in this pic, and they'll be matt once it's .all .done too..

Looking good! You didn't fancy slinging some Sea Eagles underneath?

Not enough room, those Harpoons take up lots of under-wing space.

Anyway I haven't got any to hang there. not with me at the moment anyway.

Ah I meant instead of the Harpoons. I guess the Nimrod didn't carry Sea Eagles either though!

Good question, I don't think they did. The RAF has Buccs and Tornadoes to carry Sea Eagles at the time though.

You could paint in an anti-glare black panel to break up the contrast between the nose radome and the cockpit canopy as seen on the RCAF Argus Mk.2 or Deutsch Marine MFG-3 Lockheed Martin P-3C Orions or the Avro Shackleton MR.2.
