For the name plaques, maybe red letters on white, with a red (or white) border to reflect the flags?

That to me seems like too much red and white. Especially when placed near red and white colored flag patches. Overkill.

I can see that. You want some contrast between the letters and the background. Some engraved plaques are too hard to read.

I can understand that. But having too much red and/or white for the name plaques, flag patches, etc. makes my whole display look "Christmassy" which I don't want.

Did you ever get the nameplates done? The models look great displayed like that.
