Two I finally gave up on were a series of 48th scale Invaders including an "accurate" Counter-Invader that DML announced and the 48th scale F2G Corsair from Hobbycraft (??).
Spends too much time researching rather than building...

A Gyrodyne QH-50 (1960s unpiloted ASW helo carried by US and JMSDF ships) was announced, which I really, really wanted to build, but never saw the light of day.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

DML or Dragon or whatever they call themselves, was supposed to release a 1/35 DPV (desert patrol vehicle) used by SEALs back in '94...................................................Am I wrong to still hold my breath??

Yes!  :D   From what I've read, a whole bunch of circumstances came together to cause Dragon to cancel it. These included the tooling being very expensive for such a small vehicle and the fact that the actual vehicle itself had been withdrawn from service.  However I'm sure I read recently that someone may be doing a kit of it soon but I can't remember who.

If someone did kit one of those, I'd have to buy and build a whole slew of them: one for CHAC, one for my Dad, a manned one...

Sales of Airfix kits plummeted in the 1980s, and GCSEs had to be made easier as a result - James May

QuoteThat's progressing.  The RNLI want it spot on exact and are being reet awkward buggers as Airfix would have had it already released.
I heard that test shots exist, but not for 'public' consumption yet.

Hasegawa announced an Fw190 A-3/4 and a British Brewster Buffalo (The kit is tooled for that option).

Dragon listed a 1/144th F-4S at one point

There was a US Toy fair report from the early 80s in SAM that listed some Matchbox kits that were never confirmed this side of the pond.

And then you have the Academy Dauntless.........

One 'almost, but not quite' was the Matchbox HH-65 - until they realised quite how different from the 'standard' Dauphin it was and replaced the box-art/decal scheme.

And you also have the long list of MPM releases from a few years back.

QuoteYou mean the Meteors?
Much much more than that - I'll see if I can find it.

At this point, I'm very much afraid that the MPM/Special Hobby XR-12 "Rainbow" will fall into this topic.
