The Lala-1 was a converted Polish-built An-2, used as a test-bed for the legendary/notorious PZL M-15 Belphegor jet-powered crop sprayer.
The rear fuselage was replaced with a skeletal tail boom and an AI-25 turbofan (L-39 Albatross engine) was added in the back of the cabin.

Wouldn't it look great in a Mad Max movie?

Bad Guy: "Ha! We'll soon catch that lumbering biplane!"

Lala pilot: "Surpriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiise! Engage the jet engine!"

Bad Guy: "What the F...!!!"

The first one with the "glass belly" was an army observation prototype with the internal designation "Izdeliye K", from 1948.
The other one is a ground effect test aircraft (called An-2E, for "Ekranoplan" IIRC) from the Seventies.

Personally, I like the turboprop updates a lot, like these here:

Is that an An-2 though as there is hardly anything left of the original  :-\

Don't think it is, read something about it a while ago, IIRC it has complete composite construction and was designed to be a direct An-2 replacement...
