I still find myself wandering back to this thread to take a look at this fabulous effort. What can be accomplished beyond just mere kitbashing like most of us do really is what sets apart scratchbuilding and this Firestorm model apart.

I particularly like the serrated engine exhausts, very reminiscent of the F-16 LOAN demonstrator (Low-Observable Axisymmetric Nozzle).

What, the answer isn't obvious?  LOAN was proving that you don't need 2D nozzles for LO.  What aircraft is LM working on (feverishly now that rollout's within a month) that could use this to good advantage?  Yep, the sucker I'm working on at present.

The F-35A, I presume? The latest issue of AWST shows the first production bird coming together nicely.

Yep, very nicely - it's sitting on it's gear now, waiting for engine installation and some other equipment fits, one of which is my current headache since a needed fix wasn't brought up 'til the proverbial last minute.
