I up-scaled the plans from a 1973 Airfix magazine to 1/72. It's a waterline model so should look ok in a diorama.
Construction : Evergreen sheet and rod (so far)

Cool! If you have too much time on your hands, make one like that, but a full-hulled version with r/c equipment and electric-powered oars, along with a sampleplayer coupled to the engine revs that plays "BOOM-BOOM-WHIP!-BOOM-BOOM-WHIP!" :)

What the -----?

Scratchbuilt?  Do you have any in-progress pics?  Could be a heckuva learning experience...   :)

Yes, I've seen the Roman Treme, and as to figures, you can get 1/72 sc. Romans/Greeks both land and sea soldiers.
It'll be a while 'till I'm back with her, I'm back with the Thermopylae at the moment. Fore and Main mast complete, about to start the Mizzen.

*Chuckle* Seeing that reminds me of a joke:

The Rowing Master stands up before the slave benches on a triremem and announces, "I have good news and bad news.  The good news is that the Captain has agreed to give everyone of you a good hearty lunch."

- Much cheering on the benches-

"Now the bad news, he wants to go water skiing after lunch."

Gorgeous piece of work there, Glenn.
