The only Viggen I have is a builtup of the old Hasegawa kit, and I took FOREVER to get the splinter camo right. Ain't no way I'm repainting that bad boy.

But if I were to do so, perhaps in RCN colours? Hmm.

Thanks guys, glad you liked it. Offcours I knew Ollie would, that's why I made it Canadian  :P .

Indeed, the Canadian roundels look a bit like the RAF ones but I can promise you, the Maple Leaf is inthere. doesn't show to good on the picture though .

Nils, Don't think I'll build another Viggen soon. to much other intresting stuff in the stash. but why not join the fun and do one yourself?

Ian, looking forward on seeing your RAF viggen. Great idea on Viggen Land. It will have to be a virtual Land though as I won't be able to make it to the Nationals. Working the weekend there  :(

Retro, wow, 5 viggens would even look better better then my 2 ones

Lancer, better get building there :P

Dork,  Love the idea of the Japanese Viggen. those guys have very colorful aircrafts you could do.

Rally, that's why I build WI Viggens. Hate to think of doing the splinter scheme. You are a very courages man to have done it. The RCN one would be easy then  ;)

Hey, looks like a Viggen group build here

Great job, Patrick!!

Did someone say Naval Viggen?   :D

http://www.whatifmodelers.com/forum//index...?showtopic=5442

I've got a Heller Viggen in the stash, with the assorted noses and such, I just have no idea what I want to do with it.  Maybe Israeli?  I have an Israeli Defense Force fascination in my recent building, but I only have enough decals for four planes and I've got them all assigned.  Need more Israeli decals for a Viggen.  And a Draken.  And a Rafale.  And a Eurofighter.  And a ...

Thanks Anthony, Nice looking naval version there, thanks for reminding me of it. And believe me, when you build that Heller Viggen, it's going to be much easier then the Airfix one

OOOOOOOHHHHH, thank you, thank you. I feel very honoured now.
snif, snif, would you all excuse me now while I blink away a few tears and go make some room in the fridge for the moose meat and the beer, especialy the beer. :D

That is soooo ocool.

Hey, did someone mention somewhere doing an agressor Viggen? That would be nice too.

BTW, which is better, the Airfix or the Heller. (I thought they shared a lot of molds!)

if i could resemble them, i say heller makes the best viggen kit, its more accurate, has 3 different versions in 1 box (strike, recce & 2-seat trainer), has better detail :)

im not saying Airfix makes bad kits, but most of the airfix kits i bought are kinda dissapointing, thats why i mostly prefer Revell, Heller, Italery, Minicraft or Academy. the only good airfix kit i got was the older SH-3A seaking kit.

I'll second Nils statement, the Heller Viggen is by far the best of the two. Not only more accurate but you can also build one of tree versions. Only downpart is that the only ordnance you get is the droptank. That part is better covered in the Airfix kit where you get 3 RB 05's; 2 Saab 304 anti ship missiles and 2 bombs.
I don't think the shared anny of the molds as, seeing them standing together here shows them tp be almost completely diffrent aircraft, except for the wingshape that is  ;)

Indeed, the Airfix is the prototype machine. Still, I'd reckon it's good enough for  What iff as one doesn't need to be to realistic.

Newfie sceech: sort of Jamaican rum served in Newfoundland. here's a link to where it gotten its name.

See, I've already done some research on how to fulfill my honorarian Canadian dutys

Soooooo, does this mean an organic Viggen then? A Highly polished finish courtesyof either Mr. Sheen or french polishing?? A wood grained finish?? Oh, I know, they have a Viggen plantation in Sweden and just harvest them when they need a new squadron right??   :P  :P  :P

Hey, how'd this one almost squeak by me ?

Beautiful...absolutely beautiful ! And no mistaking the leaf in those roundels, eh ?

Great stuff, patrick. looks especially good beside your BAF version. Wouldn't that have been an awesome sight ? And sound as well ! Bomb and gunnery competition followed by the shortest landing and take-off competition !

I have to admit at being a little more than jealous......my BAF and RCAF Arrows from the Baden in the mid 60s are on hold....as are my Tutor pair.......darn floods and STML.

Yep, somethimes the forces of nature come between us and our hobby, nothing to do about that.

I've got an Arrow coming my way, one of these years  <_< . A friend is ging to send it, once he got his house back in order after his recent move so maybe we can have a little competition between us in building a BAF one hé .
