He 162FgR Flügelbombe gegen Radaranlagen 1/72

At early 1945 German Diplom-Ingenieur Erik Fuchs-Suchs at C. Lorenz AG proposed a radar-homing missile to destroy British Chain Home radar stations. His friend Doctor Fritz Paraman gave him the blue prints of Heinkel He 162 to work as a basis for this weapon. This resulted the He 162FgR or "Flügelbombe gegen Radaranlagen". It was launched with rockets from modified sWS half-track vehicle. It was used only once operationally on 4th of May 1945 when three units were launched towards British Isle. Two fell into the English Channel while one found a target; a radar station in Hopton. Radar operators noticed that this missile was coming straight towards them so they shut down their transmitter and the FgR lost its signal. It went off course and fell somewhere into Norwick.



Heinkel He 162 is modified from AZ model kit. The launcher is modified from Modelcollect kit and the sWS is from Revell.









Radar antenna are from Eduard FW-190 kit

Thanks for the comments! Completely smooth front would have been quite interesting, but I was thinking the back story for this being fastly made conversion from a regular He 162, but in the other hand there were Ju 88 Mistel drones with completely new noses.

I was a bit hesitating with the swastikas but put them thinking "this is a converted unit with nationality emblems already painted in the parts" but in the other hand similar V-1s didn't have any markings.

The new nose for the Ju88 Mistel was the warhead. The Mistels with the normal canopy were trainers.
