It's been a bit too hot lately to fully continue working on my 1/350 Ticonderoga cruiser model, so I dug out some parts from a second TAMIYA 1/350 scale USS Enterprise CVN-65 carrier model kit and started to plan out a future project to be started maybe 2 years from now.
Anybody here remember and was a fan of, the old 1980's Japanese anime called Macross? Otherwise known as Robotech in the US. Anyway, one of the unique craft from that show was the gargantuan CVS-101 Prometheus aircraft carrier. According to various sources and references, it was HUGE! At least 512 meters (1,600+ feet) long. I'm a huge fan of the anime show and I have a spare TAMIYA Enterprise carrier model, so I'm thinking of possibly building a large carrier similar to the Prometheus. IT WON'T BE AN EXACT COPY, but I'm thinking more like a pre-Prometheus prototype version.
I've got a bunch of 1/700 scale aircraft carrier kits that I got when my best friend passed away and I was able to have his kit stash. I could use the 1/700 scale aircraft on the larger 1/350 scale flight deck. As for what other conversions, additions, and deletions to make to the TAMIYA kit, I don't know yet.
So if anybody has any questions, comments, advice, etc., etc. then feel free to post. A few pictures and/or links are below.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Sounds like a great idea. In a similar vein, I have a 1/72 Destroid Monster on the go. I keep putting it off due to the sheer amount of prep it will need.

So here's a few more pics of me just puttering around and playing with parts and stuff figuring out how I want to do this proposed future project.
Since the Prometheus carrier from Macross is like at least 2-3 times bigger than a standard Nimitz class carrier, Using my extra TAMIYA Enterprise carrier is the only way to go to build this gigantic beast. I originally started building this second Enterprise ages ago. But if I want to use it for my newer proposed project, I'm going to have to finish stripping off all the paint on the flight deck and all the gray on the sides of the hull as those colors are older Testor paints which no longer exist and which I no longer have or use.
The Prometheus carrier from Macross was designed to carry a lot of aircraft. At least around 150 VF-1A Valkyrie fighters plus other amounts of helicopters and other craft. As I said before, I've got aircraft from extra carrier kits that I got from my best friend's model stash. The F-14's will be used the most as those are the closest in appearence to the VF-1A Valkyrie fighters. But I might put other types of aircraft on the flight deck too like F-18's for example.
As for what types of armament this carrier has and the amounts, there are conflicting sources on that. So I'm just going to have to guess. Since I'm using 1/700 scale aircraft and armament on a larger 1/350 scale hull, I'm probably going to need a lot of defensive armament. But where they will all be placed as far as locations, I don't know. And how much I use, I don't know that either.
