Quote from: Gondor on July 11, 2026, 09:33:50 AMI did have a plan to build a kit for this Group Build, unfortunately, the courier, EVERI, has failed to deliver for two days in a row and will not now deliver until Tuesday :banghead:  :banghead:
But I have a plan, which does not involve turnips, disgusting things. So I am going to be searching the web for background information for a story-type entry. I already have a title and a subject  ;D

Uh oh, someone better get there and pull Gondor out of the rabbit hole. My wife nags me if I'm supposed to be watching the telly whilst I'm enjoying researching another whiffy idea on my mobile. Oft because I don't care about what's on telly.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

I have been getting myself into a bit of a rabbit hole with the research and not concentrating on the story. Way too much background information to get through to flesh out what I am intending to write.

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Here's a valid backstory: "This is a design wot I like".  At least thats as far as my creativity goes.

I end up down that same rabbit hole with every backstory I write.  Ruthless editing is no fun, but is essential.

It's not a case of editing. The information I have been getting is necessary as background information and, as such, contributes to the story. I have yet to write the story that uses the information though  :banghead:

Question: If I have a story to submit for this, do I need a separate thread or just pop it in the relevant section. Which is looking a little bare!  :o

Don't forget that the GB lasts until midnight on SUNDAY, or close to it anyway.

So there's actually almost 9 days worth of building rather than a week.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I know it sounds daft, but could you make a separate thread for it and then copy and paste it into the "Finished Builds" Thread. In that way any comments can be made in the "builds" thread and we can keep the Finished Entries thread free of comments.

It shows you how few stand alone stories we get as entries, which of course means I've never really thought it through

Beat me to it Kit.

Just as a reminder the GB finishes at 23:59 Local Time Sunday 19th July

Right

Dave (Kitbasher) will be doing the Poll as he can do one with the images of the finished models included. I havn't got around to managing that yet  <_<

Don't forget to put your finished builds into the Finished Entries Thread
