Having done some 'preliminary tape-ups' it would seem my idea would be totally impossible in the real world, but I'm not sure that I give a damn actually, it'll still look good.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

What is the relevence of this "real world" of which you speak?

No way I can finish something in one week. And that's if the only thing I change is the markings and it has a one color paint job. But I do have a 1/72nd scale kit of a Martin Mauler.

same...  :-\

I shall be giving it a go. I know the kit builds ok (touching wood) and it's a relatively simple paint job. Unfortunately however because of the one month slippage in the GB calendar caused by last year's hiatus I find myself in what is always a busy time of the year for me socially. I'd normally expect to lose one Sunday, but this year I'll lose both. Still I'll give it a crack.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Being on sick leave recovering from surgery I am ideally placed to actually finish this one...

Would THIS do?

I'm not quite sure that  the item is what he had in mind, but it serves to indicate the thought processes of a true whiffer!

I already have a few home made versions of that.  Making them was easier than changing the plugs on my powertools when I moved here.  UK visitors these days have so many recharging requirements that they can easilly fill them.

I have a few little resin sailing ships I could construct and detail out.
The longer part will be coming up...

ah, I have...

okay, so long as there's not another crisis here I'm in.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

And today, right at the last minute, I had a burst of inspiration and came up with a list of idea to make my build more complicated. Then I calmed down and adopted about half of them...
