Question. How does one see to fly it?!  :o

Quote from: scautomoton on July 11, 2026, 04:07:03 PMIn all honesty I wasn't planning to offer this one for sale, but if there's the demand then all things are possible. As it stands it's an in flight only model, and I'm not planning on working on it further.  Also due to the size it uses a lot of resin and print time. I think we're looking at the £90 mark.

90 notes seems like a relative bargain, considering the quality of both the design and printwork.  The likes of CMR or Anigrand would be charging three times that.  How much is the Lost British Projects one, for something in FDM and not exactly fantastic?

Broadly similar as I recall.

Pretty damn cooooool!!

and I thought the Bristol T.188 was Britains answer to SR-71

PR19_Kit

The poor old 188 looked terrific, but didn't have enough oomph to pull the skin off a rice pudding! :(

If they'd given it some decent engines instead of those Gyron Juniors......................
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That was down to the cretins at the Ministry of Supply. The engines were from the cancelled SR.177s.

That aircraft looks like it was a prop in a more realistic version of a Thunderbirds episode. Wonderful. Sleek, mean machine. 100 points.

Underpowered AND over-thirsty is quite the achievement, isn't it?   :banghead:

Shoulda fitted the full fat Gyron's... though that would've killed the flight time I imagine!

Periscope for landing, otherwise not really any pressing reason to be looking ahead.

The Gyron Junior had plenty of oomph, but its fuel consumption was horrible and the 188 was too small to carry enough fuel. It would most likely have had the same problem regardless of engine type and the options would have been limited to versions of the Avon, Sapphire or Olympus. I suppose you could give it J75s.

I completely agree.
