Trust me, I wear one....................  ;D

I've still got my Malcolm Alison Semi-Final Fedora somewhere

ICM is releasing this:

With a doctor in a bowler hat and some farmers.  The doctor's apparel is closer to 1918 than the doc I'm building.

Always happens...

The Model T is a great little kit. I'm almost done with it (just needs the license plates and some light weathering). The doc has been a disappointment; he's just a misshapen lump (especially compared to the other figures in the same kit) I also haven't been able to get a satisfactory skin tone yet on the resin head.

I did lower the hat a bit. I couldn't go much further without risking breaking through the plastic. I trimmed the top of the resin head as much as I dared. This is as good as he'll get; he may eventually get replaced by another figure (maybe ICM will release the farm family and doctor), because he detracts from the beauty of the Model  T:

The Model T had some of the shine toned down with a satin finish. Oddly, the kit doesn't come with windows in the doors. I don't know if that was a feature of this model or if ICM forgot to include them.:

I have to spray the wall with some satin or matte flat. It's too shiny from some angles. I didn't paint the tires the off white color of raw rubber. I know they were experimenting adding carbon to tire rubber in that era, with a wide variation in colors:

If you got one of those sets, you'd have a better Doctor figure, and a spare Model T for later/other things...

That movie sounds very much like something Jimmy would have played in.

I didn't know this:
(From Wikipedia)
"from 1908 to 1913, the Model T was not available in black, but rather only in gray, green, blue, and red. Green was available for the touring cars, town cars, coupes, and Landaulets. Gray was available for the town cars only and red only for the touring cars. By 1912, all cars were being painted midnight blue with black fenders. Only in 1914 was the "any color so long as it is black" policy finally implemented. "

I reckon The Doc looks BRILLIANT as he is!    !

Agreed!  I'd be very happy if I'd managed a figure like that.

Thanks, guys! I didn't know about the multi-colored Model Ts.

This Model T is only on the country lane base temporarily; the base is far from finished and I'll eventually use it as a backdrop for future builds.

I noticed the doc's Oxford shoes are scuffed, too!

As a country doctor I'm not surprised!  :o

As they should be!  ;)

I think I've figured out why I am finding the doc a little odd-looking; it's because he's unbalanced!  :o

The original figure was leaning on a cane to his left & holding a satchel under his right arm, so he has a distinct lean to the left - this is the hand into which you put his doctor's bag (for reasons explained) but this has resulted in him looking off-balance, because in normal circumstances you would lean away from the weight of the bag, not towards it, to maintain your balance over your feet!

He does look like his hips are off to his right a little bit. I think his facial expression is a little like someone you would expect to be a doctor. That's not your fault, it's the casting.
You've put a lot of work into this and I know I could not get a figure to look this good. BTW, if his shoes are scuffed that fits right in. If he's visiting a farm you might want to check and see if there is anything stinky stuck to the bottom of his shoes!
