As a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries through the Japanese Ministry of Defense  joining the GCAP (Tempest) program The UK Government along with BAE Systems delivered a Typhoon FGR 4 in August 2025 during HMS Prince of Wales visit to Tokyo The aircraft arriving  at  ADTW with BAE technical staff, this is to demonstrate production methods and technologies relating to European collaborative  defence projects, Japanese defence industries only having limited collaboration with the USA with their Mitsubishi F-2

From an Airfix 1/72 Typhoon starter set, great kit, went together really well, enough detail for me, I hope Airfix continues to produce these uncomplicated easy build kits in the future

Well done, a great idea for a Whiff and pretty plauisble too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Simple, but effective  . Would be the F-3 as a dedicated interceptor. There's a Hasegawa modern aircraft weapons set that would provide some good ordnance, but "clean" looks more elegant.

Absolutely

Nice build
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks for your comments, but my thinking is the Mitsubishi F-X was unofficially their F3

I don't really 'arm' my builds, not for literally decades (that I can remember?) not that I have any pacifist agenda but to me fast jets look better unarmed and clean . . . and unweathered

Work on the 'what if' JASDF Lightning as an alternative to F-104 continues!
