How do you get stores from the top of a vehicle that is over 3M tall 
Like this ! Sort of brick lift/hay bale lift idea. Manually cranked, or use a small electric motor.  Groan... now I need to build a generator

Simpler is better... not as much to break. 

It's interesting to see Uzis again - they don't make too many appearances these days.

I read one person's theory that a small fuel efficient car would be a better choice if you're really looking to get around. The truck sized vehicles would gobble up fuel fast and leave you stranded. But they are not as interesting to build as a model.
The zombie apocalypse theme build had some great ideas.

That's my first thought when the theme "Post-Apocalypse" comes up. Gasoline goes 'bad' after about half a year, after that you'd have to 'make' your own or ... push. 
Luckily, there is a solution (...if it fits into the scope of your what-if ...)
The game "Mad Max" had a genious institution:


Basically a large drum the size of a large boiler, just dripping gasoline... I guess out of thin air? I thought out my own (supernatural) working logic behind it, when I wanted to build a Mad Max - themed Dodge Challenger.

If you had a source of crude you could possibly refine some gasoline. Or vegetable oil, it's easy to make biodiesel. It's the source products that would be difficult to get.
