I have been known from time to time to build on a Post Apocalyptic theme.
A couple of years back I started this, Kinetic 1/35 MaxxPro MRAP with maybe Post Apoc or perhaps just a RW build. So it got to this stage, very vanilla. And on the Shelf is sat, until today.

At this stage just working through some options, the leading contender being a "found" vehicle, then tricked out to suit the new reality of a Post Apocalyptic world for the new operators.

Kinetic later produced a Law Enforcement version, packing a bit less weaponry than the Military version somewhat like this, which is probably where I might start as as basis for previous owner.
Although with what the officers are wearing if it was not for the Police shield, who would know.

For a point of context, the kit I am using is the original Military release

I know it can get rough in Blackpool on a Saturday night, but .........

For non Brits the Seaside resort of Blackpool is in Lancashire  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Do the SWAT cops really need that level of protection?  What sort of firepower are the bad guys packing?

I've always thought that were there an apocralypse i'd rather not live through it to try and scrape a subsistence level of survival while fighting off zombies/invaders/mutants/lawyers.

The problem in these situations is that you don't know what people might be armed with or what their reactions might be. The FBI had a shoot out in Chicago a couple of days ago with a suspected leader of a bank robbing gang. The other gang member just ran but this guy tried to shoot his way out which didn't go well for him.

I guess you have to go for 'Maximum Sledgehammer', on that basis.

And yea, I'd rather not have to try (and likely fail) to survive an Apocalypse. As long as it's quick...

The Leng Plateau is lovely this time of year

I read one person's theory that a small fuel efficient car would be a better choice if you're really looking to get around. The truck sized vehicles would gobble up fuel fast and leave you stranded. But they are not as interesting to build as a model.
The zombie apocalypse theme build had some great ideas.

I've always thought that if we are talking slow shambling dumb zombies then a combine harvester would be a good starting vehicle.

;D   i do like that one!       i thought that a road roller, ( one of the big ones) was an idea,  so you can do some " A Fish called Wanda" quotes as well.

Bit of bench time.. which considering our big model show is this weekend, is quite remarkable. All the models for that are already boxed up.. nothing further to add.

Bull Bar, looking at a sweep down design for any.. err zombo's that get in the way to go under wheels. Also a bit of replacement of damaged grille.

Bit of Mudguard distressing..

Interior stowage underway. I like this bit, to get it looking sort of "right" for stuff that needs to be inside vs stuff outside.
I used the 3D printer to print a block, as it would have taken longer to build up using spares and card. Needs a bit of detail paint, tie downs and the like.

next step will be interior paint. Or more work on the body shell.
