Good pics.  Thanks for sharing.

Quote from: Rick Lowe on June 29, 2026, 10:18:33 PM...I think the Egg-MiG taking a hit is hilarious. ;D

I've got something similar planned - a Lichtenstein  "dogfight double" set up with egg planes but with the Sabre getting the bullet.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Quote from: Weaver on Yesterday at 02:15:25 AMHad a good chat to the lady who built that - fantastic imagination and sense of humor. They seem like a really fun crowd.

She came round to our stand mid-afternoon and had a short chat, quite a 'meeting of minds' there.

I liked their model of themselves and their stand too, a great idea.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Great show, good to see the usual suspects too! Nice to catch up with Weaver's Mustard glider in the flesh, great finish. On the other side of the scale, the thin wing Javelin is massive! Very impressive as a kit and a built up model.

I really appreciate the club and museum fitting us in.

Cheers!

Just a reminder: the paint is Montana spray paint, which does have a gorgeous and tough finish, but because it's intended for outside "graffitti" art, it has a hydrophilic property. This means that water beads and runs off it (like those windscreen treatments) which makes decalling very fraught: the decal is either sat on top of a huge blob of water or it's on the surface with no water under it at all and impossible to slide around to get it in the right place.

I think the solution is to put a layer of some other brand of gloss coat (possibly Plastikote) over the Montana before decalling, and then give it matt coat afterwards, but I haven't actually tried it yet. If all goes according to plan though, I will be trying it in the upcoming One Week GB.
