Ah, but think of how many semis one freight train takes off the road.

Nice. 66004 runs on HVO or vegetable oil so it's far cleaner than burning diesel and you can grow crops to create the fuel.

Saw this at the Greatest Gathering last year and they were keen to talk it up.

On the other extreme, Union Pacific's Big Boy locomotive will be hitting the rails again this summer, complete with period Pullman cars.

Not a case of how many miles per gallon, more how many gallons per mile

Seriously though, wish we still had the LMS Garrett or LNER U1 still around here.

The biggest problem with the Big Boy is keeping it on track that can support its weight! It made it past my hometown once so I'll have to keep an eye on the schedule for it.

I know it's not running, but the South African Garrett in the Manchester Science Museum is well worth seeing. It's ENORMOUS, and quite how it doesn't fall over on only 3'6" track I've no idea!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Bit of an unusual one here. 66175 seen going "up" the fast "down" track at Southampton Central with a container flow. No idea how usual that is or why it happened as they've always been on the correct line when I've seen them in the past.
