It is 1950 and the Royal Mail are having trouble with deliveries in the remote parts of Scotland. The ferries aren't so good and the roads are rough.
The regional Posrmaster has a brainwave based on his experiences in Europe 1944-1945.
Ducks! Or actually DUKWs!

They can handle the roughest of roads and cross bodies of water. What could possibly go wrong?

Now for a few details. I realise this is a bit late and not quite finished but I think I've got far enough with it to present it anyway for your presumed delight

This is the Airfix 1/72 DUKW from 1966 with a few added extras from the model railway world.

I'm pleased with the red paint. This was Tamiya X-7 which comes out very close to the red seen on Royal Mail vehicles. It's a bit rough but this is a model of a working vehicle and not a museum piece  ;)

The animals are on board as part of a Royal Mail plan to improve profits. Basically there is space on board the DUKW and the postie can earn a few bob on the side from farmers needing to move stuff locally.

The sheep are a nice touch!

Nice idea and execution!

Old Wombat

Needs the tarp, to protect the mail & livestock from the elements, but, otherwise, very good!

"The hull's warped and leaking too much already, Sir!"
"Beam me up, Scottie!"
"It's nae a smilin' matter, Captain, there'll be no beamin' smile on ma face 'till we're safe ashore!"
...
Cheers.

That's good Nick.  Made me smile.  Australia Post could use a few in Queensland at the moment.

Where do you put the stamp on a sheep?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

NARSES2

That does look good Nick, particularly the colour

On their foreheads of course. Same as "Brides by Mail"  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

This is a most impressive vehicle!

Another one I missed until I saw it in the Group Build vote. Excellent! The only addition I would make is Postman Pat at the wheel!  ;D

How about your least-favourite carrier in the markings of Flight 19?
On the basis that there must be some reason that stuff never gets to you...  ;D  ;)
