Some QUALITY stuff there Dave.

Who was the new recruit then? I love his RAF Dagger and the Jaguar M.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

New recruit is Ian, who built the RAF F-102 and the collection on the Southdowns display.  He also built the Mercury Whirlwind featured in my blog.

Oeeeh I like those models Kitbasher. What a great display of models!

That F-102 is looking splendid. I like the Hurricane-Wellington combo and the idea of a whirlwind with Mercury engines.
Somehow i'm inspired by this later combo but feels it needs to be in Belgian ww2 colours. So the engine will be Melculy engines (Referring to the Belgian rockband Fleddy Melculy...)

Anyway, great show. Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Thanks for the pics - some interesting stuff, alright. Nice to see again some things I'd forgotten about.

Ian used to live up near Terry C/Raddish. and was a member of the same club as Terry.........Its no wonder he is a whiffer.
I always hope for the best.

Great to catch up with Martin, Chris and Colin at my (now) local show.

The SIG's display turned out to be ideally located - next to the Southdowns Model Group display + tombola and opposite the snack bar, therefore not lost in the 'noise' of the other club/branch displays.

Lots of interest therefore in our display, lots of very friendly chat with the visiting public.  Also for me being a Southdowns member it was rewarding to have fellow Southdowns members have closer looks and chat about whiffery.  A couple of them confessed to having occasionally dipped their toes in the whiffing water.

And we have new recruit to The Cause!

Is there a possibility to join the whif SIG for this show next year eventhough I'm from abroad and no member of the southdowns IPMS (I ' member of the Dutch IPMS)?

I see no reason why you can't.  Martin?

No need for you to be a member of the Southdowns group to support the What If? display, I just happen to be both a Southdowns and a What If? SIG member.

Were you actually at the show yesterday?

Ah, Ok. Great. No I wasn't at the show yesterday but liked the models I saw, the show hall, southern England and Worthing is not really that far from Dover.
It definitely closer than Telford, although the show is smaller.

Still I might be interested to tag some whiffies i did with me..

You'd be more than wellcome to sit behind the stand with us and chew the cud David
