"Exactly, Neil. And you are a totally different size and weight than a packet of smash, so we should be all right."

It'll be fine.  I've got standard Tempests with the weight of the resin engine plus a white metal contra prop and they're sitting on their gears with no issues as regarding pecking. Undercarriages collapsing, perhaps.  This has a longer fuselage and the back just before the tail section is well solid.

"A Romany bint in a field with her paints, suggesting we faint at her beauty, but she's got Dickie Davies eyes!"

Talking about the undercarriage. The drawing looks to have a single leg rather than the sort of two-part unit normally used by Hawkers at that time. Do you think it's just a reference line rather than a single piece unit?

Gondor's Modelling Rule Number Three: Everything will fit perfectly untill you apply glue...

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Reference line.  Hawker's P.1009 drawing does the same thing.

That looks seriously mean with that lovely contra-prop hanging on the front.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Perfect is the enemy of Finished. I presume. I've never achieved either.
