I've never even HEARD of a Yak-140. 

Looks pretty neat there, and that centreline landing gear gives lots of weapons choices, even if it would be a real swine to take-off and land!

Yak 140   is mentioned in Buttler & Gordon:   Soviet Secret Projects; Fighters since 1945 (page 61  in my copy). also https://www.aviastar.org/air/russia/yak-140.php

I believe that  OKB47 (Yakovlev)  were keen on the Velocipedno  (bicycle) style of undercarriage

Yeah, all their 'Flashlight' derived twin jets used that style of landing gear.

Looking at pics, it seems like that's true for the front seat. The headrests are almost level, but the sill line goes downwards at a much steeper angle, so the front-seater has their lap level with it. Basically, if both crew have their hands in their laps (i.e. upper arm pointing straight down) then the front seater's elbows are above the sill line, and the back seater's are below it.

Good spotting, I'd missed that.
Still, mine is sans crew, so no-one will notice...

When putting the Gaz AAAway I discovered a pair of 1/144 JGSDF trucks I had forgotten I had.   

I received these today from Mako Models on evil-bay.  Both 1/144 3d prints.  Both to stage with 1/144 cargo aircraft or ekranoplan.  At least they don't have tiny parts to glue together.

1 x 1/72 MPM 72037 Mitsubishi J8M1

Which one as they did two - the initial one, which was nice but a bit basic or the later rebox with additional resin?  The latter had a stunning resin cockpit interior.  I got the former together (late 2000), but it never reached primer stage. The latter is lurking in my Japanese aircraft box in the loft.

Hasegawa released a rather nice version, albeit someone else's tooling - NC Model? - and if you want a cheap alternate as a clothes horse for Hinomaru, the Lindberg Me 163 is ideal as they measured up the J8M1 at Chino in error.

No resin, just a little sheet of PE and an acetate instrument panel, other than the plastic.

Sounds like the original release. The later one was in a plain white box with just a label and a BFO flash saying upgrade.
