From the Coventry Show, mostly for £cheap, and the one "expensive" one was still a good price: thanks Trevor!

Lift Here! 1/72nd Boeing Skyfox (resin)
Airfix 1/76th RAF Recovery set, with most of two full sets in it (I think)
PM 1/72nd Spitfire VB floatplane (want the floats, of course)
Academy 1/72nd OV-10A Bronco "Vietnam War" boxing
Revell 1/77th Ford Trimotor (for the Antarctic figures - it's my third)
Academy 1/144th B-47 - this is a good value kit, with decals for SEVEN aircraft, at it's RRP of £20+, and I got this one for half that from a private sale.

5 x mini funnels & 1 strip of weights (wheel blance weights?) from a tool stall for the pincely sum of £2.

Some decal sheets and a 1/48 resin S3 cockpit set.

It was a good day. My thanks to Weaver, Scautomation, Dominic, Kit and Richard for manning the stand. We had a good day. 😊

I didn't think that minis were big enough to have funnels, they are hard enough to get into or carry much at the best of times, unless you're trying to beat a world record or something

These are for the steam-powered Minis that BL developed as far as prototypes during the 1973 Oil Crisis.

I ordered a Hasegawa X-29 and a UH-60A on Amazon a few days ago. It showed up yesterday. Looks nice in the box. I'm thinking of cutting away most of the cabin and leaving the cockpit of the UH-60 like a CH-54 Skycrane. The X-29 is just handy to have in stock if you need one.

Nice kit, that one.
Be aware the cockpit seats sit too low - the crew's laps should be at the cockpit sill line... it's an Observation aircraft, after all...

Oooh, thanks for that - note duly made and put in the box.

Looking at pics, it seems like that's true for the front seat. The headrests are almost level, but the sill line goes downwards at a much steeper angle, so the front-seater has their lap level with it. Basically, if both crew have their hands in their laps (i.e. upper arm pointing straight down) then the front seater's elbows are above the sill line, and the back seater's are below it.

It is somewhat fascinating, and, I believe, a bit defining for us as a group, that this thread is one of the fastest to get new posts following site down time.  ;)

But I'm no better than anyone - I stumbled on a Modelsvit Yakovlev Yak-140 kit the other day, and retrieved it for a rather decent price. Hence, eventually, it'll become a Su-7 partner for tactical strike missions. I foresee a brown/green over sky blue camouflage. And, given the landing gear arrangement, there's lots and lots of space for payload under the wings..

1/144 Scale.  As I have a number of that scale cargo planes I decided I "need" some vehicles to pose with them.  There are a couple more coming from another source.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

It is.  Frighteningly tiny.

I don't know what came over me buying a kit so small.

I have a few of these early modelsvit kits, currently building a mig of theirs. They are far from shake and bake, and quite difficult to build.
