The Wooksta!

Didn't get much at the show, apart from:

Bag Special Hobby Mosquito spares, courtesy of Chris.
1 bag of various Xtracolour paints from me mate Bob.  He'd stopped using them and switched to others.

Then I actually spent some of my dwindling stash of Great British Pennies and bought:
PM Sea Fury, as I want to fuselage for a shortcut P.1030 using a Matchbox Tempest wing.  I know for a fact that the two fit.
An IBG Essentials range Spitfire mk Vb early.  Basically, the same as the standard kit, but no decals, distructions or 3d printed bits.  I think I can cope.  At £12, it's half price compared to the normal boxing.  I object strongly to paying more than 20 notes for a 72nd Spitfire in injection.

Plus some wide Tamiya tape and a bottle of Plasticweld.  I *think* I have enough filler to last me until Telford.

From Hobbycraft (because I had a voucher) in Altrincham (because the Stockport branch was out of stock):

Academy 1/72nd A-10A
Tin of Wepro Matt Tango Red spray paint - I think this stuff is the equivalent of Montana spray paint, but we'll see.

From the Swamp and Smell at Model Expo.

A bagged 1/72 Lindberg Hs-129B.  Very crude and simple but it was $5 so i'll forgive it.  Whiff fodder.
A bagged 1/25 Monogram Ford Mustang GT.  This is missing the body and front suspension and the rear axle has half of it missing.  But everything else is there meaning a complete engine, wheels and tyres, and a convertible interior suitable for transplanting.  Worth what I paid for it.
A bag of 1/35 figures for $1.  I think they are the crew from the original mould (1972 IIRC) Tamiya 88mm Flak 36/37 kit.  They'll come in handy.

A bagged 1/35 Trumpeter Sd.Kfz 7 half track with 20mm Flakvierling.  Judging by the state of the destructions the box met its end in a flood.  It has individual track links made up of four tiny parts per link.  But again it was cheap.  Whiff fodder.
1/72 Matchox Dornier Do-18.  I had one of these as a kid.  It survived quite a while and took part in a lot of toy soldier battles.  I had never seen another example until Monday.  Vendor was trying to sell Matchbox and carded Airfix kits at collector prices at a swap meet.  This will become an amphibian and might get push/pull turboprops.

1/72 Hasegawa Kawasaki Ki 48-I.  One for the "Box Art & Font" (as I call them) collection.  Not one i've seen before.

And a kit I was actively looking for.  1/25 Revell Ford Thames Gasser.  This is moulded in dark metallic green.  Mmmmmm.  Looking forwards to building this one.  But I need to come up with a colourful paint scheme.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

I'm not going to re-post everything here. I'll just provide a link instead. A picture is also below.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Best of luck with those track links mate, way beyond me nowadays  :-\

As for the Do 18. I could never quite get used to the size of the mid-upper turret.   And the bloke at the front is in the open air
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Continuing on from my Post # 694 further above in this thread. Here's some pics of models I got when my best friend passed away.

And this should be the last batch of pics...........for now anyway, of model kits I recieved when my friend passed away. God only knows how many more kits might be hiding in his house someplace.

A couple of lengths of Evergreen rod and tube from what is now my 'LHS', ModelsForSale.

They're for my two GB builds so the props rotate properly, hopefully..............
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

It's only just clicked with me, after many years of seeing images of this kit, that the prow has been designed to look like a shark!
