The Wooksta!

The fit is appallingly bad, especially the BMW engine, the wing has no aerofoil section outboard and the u/c is exceedingly fragile - breathe and it collapses.  I did it when it first came out in 1988 and still have the flashbacks.  My advice is ditch it and get the vastly better ICM one.

From a couple of estate sales this weekend, an old Revell Bomarc kit- price on the box $1.49, and a wood Dumas 46' Chris Craft Cabin Cruiser kit.  Both for silly money as part of package deals. Now to haunt eBay for the Deluxe fittings kit for the Dumas boat.

PR19_Kit

NICE buys, both of them!

That Dumas Chris Craft boat is a real cracker.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Got a box of model stuff delivered today.

Mostly BitsferBucc's but it also included one of these;

Looks nice in the box.

Typically has no locator pins but, if it lives up to RS's usual standard, should fit together nicely, if I take my time to align things properly.

Thanks Lee.  I grabbed it because it was cheap and I thought it would make good whiff-fodder.  Not because I really wanted one.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

I had their 72nd kit in my hand at Bolton last year for a ridiculously cheap price (it was under a tenner) but declined on the grounds that I had the very nice Aoshima one (the recent tool, not their 1960s horror...) and I hadn't built that, so thus no interest.  Plus I was buying Mosquitoes and wanted my cash monies for those.

In other news, I was handed the spares from a Special Hobby Mosquito NF.XV by one of the lads at Wor Club.  There's a lot, but what intrigues me the most is the nose sections for RAAF Mosquito PR21s.  There's also spare extended wing tips, which I think are for PR32s and an additional bull nose night fighter nose.  This one has a pressurisation intake which is odd, as other than the NF.XV, B/PR.XVI, PR.32, B/TT.35 and PR34, none were pressurised.  Is it an NF38 nose?  A trip into the loft to dig out their NF.XXX kit to compare and contrast is in order.
Yes, I've slagged this kit but I have three in the loft to do something with, so a PR41 using one of the PR16s could be in order.

Received from eBay today

1 x 1/72 Italeri 082 Westland HU-5 Wessex

1 x 1/72 Airfix A04068 Westland Wessex HC.2

1 x 1/72 Helicopter seats. I think they are from a Chinook, although, as it's just the seats and the webbing bacs, it's a little difficult to tell.
