I noticed while fitting the Tracks that it was suddenly too short; it must have shrunk during painting. I now need to supply two more trank links.

Your track looks to me to be short because it's not tight enough ...? There's a lot of small wobbles in it, you haven't pressed it into the teeth of the sprocket and the curve under the idler wheel is very loose.

Though I do admit it would be much easier to get the track right if Takom had made the idler wheel moveable, like on MiniArt's M3 mediums, Asuka Shermans, etc.

Chaos mate that's looking great so far ... and i still hate Sherman tracks ..so i feel for ya on this .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

A tank that has skirts would allow you to lace it up and pull it tight. No chance here. No way to move the wheels to take up slack if it's loose after adding a link I suppose.

Meh! So they had to whack in a couple'a new links. Ain't no biggie!  ;)

( Translation for our German friend: Who cares! So they had to repair the tracks. Not a problem! )

On a tank with deep enough skirt plates, you don't even need to bother with the top run. On something like a Chieftain, M1 Abrams, Challenger, or the K2 I'm building right now, I put together enough track to go from the idler wheel to the drive sprocket and no more. That saves about a third of the work and the track links, which means that if you have to buy the track separately, you'd probably only need two sets for three models :)

The M41 builds I just finished are like that. Don't look under the skirts!
