Fairey AE-1 Spearfish

In an exchange project in 1946, the US Marine Corps acquired 24 Fairey Spearfish bombers while the UK Royal Navy got an equal number of Douglas Skyraiders.
The Skyraiders received the designation AE-1 and were used until 1949. As the Marines did not see any significant advantages of the Spearfish over the Skyraider, there was follow on order for the aircraft from the USA.

That's a MAGNA Spearfish!  :o

Wowee, you sure did a good job of that Tom!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Come out well Tom

I built that kit a few years ago in BPF markings, it's on the site somewhere, I still remember the amount of putty on the wing/fuselage joint  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Love the backstory. Always had a soft spot for the spearfish. It's profile looks a bit odd to me.

Great job Tom!
Love to see it at the ESM.
