Captain Canada

The dude standing around  has obviously never swung a pick axe in his life lol

For the box and sides, please keep them. Guys who do this sort of thing for a living like nothing better than throwing all of your tools in at the end of the day, and worrying about them later. And in this day and age, nobody needs to see your fancy Milwaukee tool boxes and wonder how many thousands of dollars they can walk away with.....

As for the swing tail gate, another no go. These things back into tight spaces, and having to swing the thing open may not only be impossible, but creates an obstacle when trying to get around the vehicle. The drop gate also makes it easier to put things in and out of the bed, and has the added advantage of becoming a worktop.

"The dude" / "He" is Steve McQueen, as modelled by H3 Models ... I have a kit of Steve in character as a "WW2 USAF Pilot" (slacks, turtle-neck sweater & a leather jacket).  ;D  ;)

That's a 3D print of Mister Steve McQueen! It's from Thingiverse. The original figure is in 1/32, I scaled it down to 1/35 (just under 6' tall at that scale) and printed it in 50um on my old printer. The face details are OK, but the clothing needs undercutting and detailing. He does make a good, judgmental stand in figure for scale.

Almost done! Just need a couple of things (like cargo). The chains are thin bass chains. They were not easy to install. I also added latches to the rear hatch and red lights to the rear, but they aren't visible. The vehicle is slightly rusty:

The fire extinguisher is one I designed and 3D printed a while ago, It's actually a reject, but I made it work. The driver's side window is down and the side view mirrors are scratch built. I flipped the cargo panels around, with the metal framework facing out. The panels are (I'm assuming) either cheap, rotting plywood or some sort of dense, painted weave glued or bolted onto the frames :

All the clear parts in this kit are thick and have whorls from the injection molding. It took a while to polish them out. Of course, the affected areas are under the dust...

Nice!  But I also thought Mr. McQueen was Patrick McGoohan at first sight...

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Steve is trying to figure out if he can jump over it while riding a motorbike..............  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
