Have a good time, all.

Sorry to hear this.  I hope that they improve  and that your devotion to family is recognised.

As to the good time;  yes thank you, I did!  A chance to chat to other whiffers, huge quantities of high class work to view and a leisurely lunch with Kit and his lady friend.

Was a very good show! Legs and back now sore but plenty of photos and a number of bargains to be had. Good to put some faces to names as well  <_<

Thanks to those who provided me with kits and @Steel Penguin, you never did tell me your real name

Thought I'd taken some photos of the Whatif and cancelled projects stands but seems not  :-\  Sorry guys.

It was nice to put a face to your name, pitty we didn't get a chance to do more than say hello, maybe next year.

OK, who asked me for the Aeroclub Speed Spitfire conversion a few days ago?

I had it with me all day and no-one asked me for it. The search engine here won't show the query either.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Yep, 'twas the unlucky punter confined to quarters. If PayPal likes me I can slip you some beer tokens and PM you my address. Let me know.

How was the showing for the Whiffy competition class?
Cheers.

Ah, OK. The 'conversion kit' is SO small I'd feel bad asking even 2p for it, you're welcome to it. PM me your address and I'll sling it in the post.

Class 32 was a disappoint for me I'm afraid.

OK, I admit I'm biased as my Bv 148 didn't even get a 'Commended', but there were only 5-6 entries and there was a VAST amount of space for them.  The winner was a 1/48 th (I think.....) model of a the HS P.139B AEW aircraft for the FAA, the little, short, fat ugly f****r with a big radome at each end. But it wasn't really a Whiff as all the imagination had been supplied by Blackburn/HS, and not the modeller. 2nd place was a VERY small gossamer winged thingie that was so small I could only just see it! Done by the guy who won the class last year.

Maybe it's sour grapes on my part, but it wasn't really good class this year.

Well, that's me home after the 5-hour drive I feared would happen, happened.  Never mind, it won't spoil the weekend.

Great to meet up again with whif mates old and new, and to catch up with non-whiffers from the dim and distant, not least Mark Attrill, with whom I went through Cranwell a mere 45 years ago.

Great SIG display, and top bantz with all personing it Sat and Sun.  Hope all have/had safe trips home regardless of the distance travelled.  🤞 Tom and Ken don't get their hauls impounded when they pass through customs!

Finally, a shock and an honour to be one of the recipients of the very generous prizes courtesy of Colin Freightdog.

Anyway, some pics:
