It's "utilitarian" not ugly  ;D It looks like a basking shark with its mouth closed.
The issue with the nose thimble is that it would get in the way of the machine guns

The smooth cowlings and "exhaust channels" in the fwd end of the engine nacelles are two of the obvious A-26 tells for its R-2800s. Grind the exhaust bumps on the B-25 cowlings and file in similar channels and it'll give a similar look. Or maybe go FW 190, F7F, F8F or Fury/Sea Fury style.

Hmmm, those exhaust channels look fiddly to file well   :o

The F7F ones look easier. Would have to do the corresponding oil coolers too I suppose 🤔

I have been umming and arring about building a B-25 with a pair of Dart turboprops on, and some 1960's ish era underwing ordnance. Thinking of the gun nosed version or the same as this with the 75 fitted. I shall be watching this build with interest.

Everything is better with Dart turboprops! Where would you source the darts from though? The issue with the machine gun nose is that at that point, you might as well start off with the A-26. The B-25's 75mm is a bit more distinctive I think

A MACH 2 Argosy maybe?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Would they keep the large cannon if they were carrying rockets?
I know and agree that 'more is better', but thinking of the weight saving.
Carry a slew of rockets on P-38 style 'Christmas Tree' launchers and once they're sent on their way, you have a performance increase and less weight for more fuel economy.

I was trying to weigh up whether rockets or cannon would be better.  I'll have a look at what those Christmas tree launches look like now.
The pro's of the 75mm for me are that there are at least 20 rounds, potentially more. And maybe more accurate with a dedicated weapon sight.
Pro's of rockets. Lighter and can fire in a volley.

I have several pairs of aftermarket resin ones, Transport Wings, I think, bought for various projects.

I agree!  T56s are the business!  Honestly that's what should have been fitted to the C-123 instead of the R-2800s.  Then it would have been a miniature C-130 (more so than it already was), and wouldn't have needed aux jets.

I'd be looking more towards the 75 matey...the rockets which the P-38 uses were not all that powerful where as the 75 could use AP and HE rounds and I'm pretty sure WP rds too .
Also the gun is much more accurate than the rockets ..the rockets ..which are probably HVAR rockets were very good ..no doubts about that but only in the hands of very experienced pilots ..fact they were deadly ..in the hands of not so experienced..not that good ..the cannon tho ..much less chance of wasted ammo ..sleaker aerodynamics and less weight as those HVAR's weighted like 130 lbs or 61 kgs each and ya only get ten per wing .
If ya did the math ..which I ain't 👍..the gun will do more accurate shooting unless you've got a very good pilot behind the stick to use rockets .
Oh you could also carry spare 75mm ammo inside to the plane if needed 😉
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Also I forgot forgot to mention..gonna love this build mate..it's a twin ..that's 10 points right there and it's a version of the B-25 ..there's the other 40 it's right there  ;D  ;D
I work on a 50 point basis 🙃

SOLD!!

75mm gun, clean outer wings, drop tanks on inner wings.... maybe bombs, napalm or fuel in the bomb bay??

I shall take those 50 points with pride! Cheers
