Back in early 2017, I stumbled across an Ansaldo project for a large 27,000 ton cruiser for the Soviet Union. It would have had 9-254mm guns, 10", and 6-130mm guns and been able to sail at 35knots. I contacted my friend Stefano Sappino in Italy who was at that time digging through the Ansaldo archives. All he found was a diagram of a hull section. He looked some more in his research but sadly passed away a year or so later.

The design was getting a little bit of attention and people like myself pictured it as part of Italy's Regia Marina rather than the Soviet Navy. Some concept drawings emerged and World of Warships did  a version called the "Naploli" that looked like a smaller UP-41.

I wanted to build this but each separate concept was problematic for me as far as aesthetics. At long last she is finished with influence from both drawn concepts and another WoWs cruiser for the bridge. I added a 65mm battery that was inspired by that of the battleship Caesare in here unfinished 1944 modifications. She is better than hoped for in my view.

That does look good

And I've just realised she's 1/1200  :o
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
