This is what I have done so far to What I had posted in the ideas thread. The kit is the hobbyboss Do 335 in 72 and scale, the engines are resin Jumo 's from Lonewulf. The kit is near as damn it a snap together one, but it needs a lot of sanding and putty especially on the joints. I have drilled the wing roots to put 20 mm cannon in, and the nose will house a radar. The rocket motor is a piece of tubing with a rocket nozzle from a Douglas skyrocket. I am going to paint it in nachtjagger colours, but with captured by the ministry of Axis Acquisitions RAF roundels

I hope this is not too much of a problem for you, but the engines appear to be on backwards. Are you sure it's not Italian?

It does look like they are backwards, but I'm also assuming they are just sitting under the wings and haven't actually been attached yet.

Nice concept, I would say it makes the Do-335 a lot safer for the pilot, but German rocket motors weren't exactly known for being safe  ;D

I had put them on the wrong way round. :banghead:  :banghead:  I was using pictures from a book I have as reference, as the supplied instructions are a tad faded and vague. The engines are a pain to get in the right place as they are not identical where they glue on, so several attempts were made to get them to look half right. I am thinking of the rocket motors being solid fueled, with the air scoop either to cool the area exposed to the heat, or it is a ram air scoop for the rocket, to give added boost.

Could be a pulse-jet instead.  The Germans were known for those, and it would be using the same fuel supply as the turbojets (though that has its downsides as well).  Probably wouldn't provide as much thrust as a rocket motor though.

For a rocket engine the tail nozzle is very big, and for a pulse jet you'd need proper intakes, with a very clean air flow.

there are four outlets in the nozzle, and the rocket motor is an experimental add on.
