Being back from vacation, I am still totally jetlagged. South-East Asia is several timezones away and this is not getting easier when you get older.

No good idea to build anything right now except screwing together some more hull parts for the Graf Zeppelin. So lets continue with the next two steps.

Step 49/140 Another keel segment

One of those simple keel parts, so there is not much more to say about it.

Step 49 parts:

Step 49 completed

Step 50/140  Coming to an end at the port side.

This unterwater hull part has some mountings where the shaft bossings will be added in a later step (Hint: Next step <g>).
So with this part, only the stern part is missing here which will be added soon I hope.

Step 50 parts:

Step 50 completed

That's all very clever, the way it bolts together, quite unlike the real thing in process, but ends up looking right.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Tell me about it  ;)

Hope you had a good time though ?

Most times, its quite easy to assemble. Only on the narrow parts of the bow (and. guess of the stern as well) is a bit tricky to fasten the screws as you do not have much working space inside the hull there.

Was an intersting experience. But the hot & humid weather is not mine. And while we had a good tour into the Mekong Delta, a friend who was there in the early 1970s said it was less peaceful there on his visit...

  ;)

Must admit I didn't find S E Asia anywhere near as humid and repressive as the Amazon Basin. Although that could have been the time of year I visited.

Apparently it snows in the Vietnam Highlands... I learned that from Gran Torino...  ;D

Clint Eastwood's character was in the Korean War, not VietNam.
The Leng Plateau is lovely this time of year

Yes, but the Neighbour's Daughter was a Montagnard.

Again two more steps this time, but now I have caught up. And a huge achivement this time.

Step 51/140  The first shaft bossing and another Ju 87.

The 7th Ju 87 is now assembled and the first shaft bossing is added to the hull part form last step. No screws this time as it is only glued in place.

Step 51 parts:

Step 51 completed

Step 51 Airwing

Step 52/140 The stern

Finally, the underwater stern part is added. Which is a quite big one. Now the hull has reached its full length of 130cm.

Step 52 parts:

Step 52 completed

Starting to  really come together now

Step 53/140  The final underwater hull part is added

First, the second shaft bossing from step 51 is added to the hull part which is then installed in the hull gab. So, only a keel part is missing for the underwater hull and this will be added next week. Again, the tight workspace made it a bit tricky to fasten the screws.

Step 53 parts:
