This evening i did a lot of sanding and work on the main part of the cancel.
Soften the clear part with the candle and cool it down on metal.

Good tools are to see in the picture 😵💫

Ehm, maybe a bit late to the party but I have vacuum formed reproductions canopies for 1/72 ju-288 and -388 available. The plastic is the non-yellowing type.

I have one in spare, thank you
but maybe you can show us some pictures?

Today i put the spinner parts together on a base plate of sheet, they fit exactly in the engines and i glued them together.

I found some props left over from a He 111z and cut the blades off.

The engines and the spinners together will be good to handle for the following work...

This morning i could spend some time and work in a flow to fix all the 12 blades in one go.

For that i put a drop of classic glue on the blade and one to the counterpart at the spinner, let it stay until it is nearly dry, check that with the famous toothpick. Than put them together exactly as possible, a little turn and pressure and they will stay in a moment!

Think the engines looks like some powerful untits.

Good connection, need just a little bit of work later.

That was just one hour of work 😃 but a big step for the build. Now i need a good box to keep them without damage...

I did a shower of silver spray over the fuselage and continue with sanding and more putty, what will continue with more sanding...
You know.

Yesterday morning i found some massive mistake in my design.  The new made props were much bigger than the original size and would hit straight in the cockpit section  :banghead:

So i decided to make the wings bigger ( what is always a good idea   ) and generate some space for the rotating blades...

I cut some stripes out of a111z center wing and added them to the 188 wings, the operation went well and quick.

And added some panel lines on the new parts.

MY kind of thought process there, oh yes!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yes, i know that you would like that and got you in my mind 😀.

All the glue needs time to dry, so i have to wait for more work. Cockpit and clear parts should be ready before attaching the wings for better handling.

Props hitting the cockpit is a problem.  :-\  The Ju 188 had a wider cockpit section than the Ju 88. The problem was solved by making the props of the Ju 188 a bit shorter. Some years ago I found two props in a antique shop in Århus, Denmark, where the were for sale as Spitfire props!!! The antique dealers had no idea of what they had in their shop. The props had probably been "liberated" from Tirstrup Air Base north-east of Århus by the end of WW2.
It might be difficult to see on my picture, but the shorter Ju 188 prop is to right and the Ju 88 prop is to the left. Under the weird cream colour, they had the original RLM 70 Schwarzgrün paint.
