Very nice, Kit,

As for a close engined Canberra, I did one a few years ago of "how the Canberra should have been designed".  I painted it in PRU blue.

Bloody hell Bri !!! ...beat me to it even tho the idea didn't exist in my head until Kit mentioned it only a few days ago 🙃
So since you built the British version how's about the US version since mine is a B-57 also I'm liking the thought of moving the nose gear in front of the cockpit..also I've an idea for much more aerodynamic looking engine intakes .
I do like the wing tip tanks on yours bud ..might be nicking those
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Hells bells Brian, how could I have forgotten THAT masterpiece of yours?  :banghead:  :banghead:

I thought it was magnificent then and I still do, it made SO much more sense than the way Petter did it originally. Your backstory only left out the Dalgety of course.  ;D

Phil, moving the nosewheel would make sense too, the Canberra has a VERY short wheelbase and taxi-ing them must have been a real bear in the RW. Certainly decently designed Flight Sim versions are VERY twitchy to taxi.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

It's one thing about the Canberra I could not quite get my head around is that nose gear ..why so close together ?
Like ya said ..taxi-ing must have been a real pain but the turing circle must have been bloody impressive 😆
You almost get the impression that they designed the plane and at the last moment they realized they'd forgotten something 😆

The problem with the Canberra is lack of room.  You have most of the nose full of a pressure cabin.  How would you fit a nose wheel?  So they put it as far forward as they could but they had to put it behind the pressure bulkhead.  So you have a short wheelbase.  Now, they could have increased the depth of the pressure cabin and scabbed the wheel well on underneath it but would have been rather ugly and the Canberra would have sat rather high.  We would have ended up like the Stirling with the crew perched up rather high.  Petter obviously decided against that.

Ahhh yes all very true but with mine being a B-57 the pilots sit behind each other not side by side and I'm working on the principle that there's plenty of room  ;D
And if i have to I'll lengthen the bugga to make it fit .
Even tho I've got zero idea how I'd do that right now.
