Oh you can bet on that matey ,,it's the same with this Marder 1A2 i got ,,chuck a few new bits at it but the base model is still from 1977  ;D

Easier/cheaper than revamping the moulds, or making a brand new, accurate kit...  :banghead:
Yep ,,so very ture but as normal things have gotten out of hand and there's not much of the original kit left to see ,,let's just say it's been rather up-armoured
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

A couple of things direct from Airfix, using my membership deals and various points I'd collected.

1/76th 25pdr and Quad. I need this for my contribution to the Amphibious GB
1/72nd Bristol Beaufort. I wanted something to keep the above company and I enjoyed my previous one. Thinking RNZAF in the SW Pacific ?

Quote from: Thorvic on December 10, 2025, 11:33:26 PMAfter building the new Trumpeter 1/700 HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft carrier, i found that the Merlin helicopters were actually 1/600 scale and look mor super sea stallion size, i was also not impressed with their F-35B.

Ended up ordering some 3D bits off ebay to replace the Merlin HM2 and add some Merlin HC5 together with the correct deck vehilces for the QnLZ as again Trumpeter have done a generic vehicle set that are not used by the UK. These are all in transit fro either China or US so hope they arrive before Christmas.

These have all arrived this week, so now have some rather small aircraft to assemble  :o

Indeed. Carry on, Good Sir!

I had a birthday, got a voucher from Metro Hobbies from my Dad, got this...

Gordini Racing Set by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

...1/24 scale van, car, and trailer.  Full detail kits.  Van has a full detail body interior which is rare in van kits.  Oddly the car has some parts moulded on the vinyl tyre sprue - roll cage, seats, exhaust extractors - I suspect they will be hard to use.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

I've got that R8 Gordini kit on its own, it's a brill kit of a very small car.

A guy in a local garage had a real one for a while and let me take pics of it, which I may still have somewhere. I'll see if I can find them.

From Ebay:

Airfix 1/72nd Fairey Rotodyne (incomplete & therefore cheapish)

This is an older "rainbow skill levels" boxing so it doesn't seem to have the moulding problems of the current Vintage Classic one, which means I can get a buildable Rotodyne out of the two of them. As far as I can tell on a quick inspection (got to go out in a minute), the only thing wrong with it is that two blades have been snapped off one prop, so there's going to be a LOT of spare parts for another whiff too.

Couple of early Christmas presents. The Twogar I had ordered 3 months ago from a model shop in Poland but it then got caught up in all this tariff nonsense so it took the guy a while to figure out how to get it to me. It will be part of my Vietnam FAC collection.

The G.91 was my white elephant present at our local IPMS holiday meeting last night. Going to paint it up in the US Army scheme. I never knew the Army ever looked at the G91 (or that they were even allowed to 😜). It's almost like a what-if that was.

An unexpected win on eBay for a 1/24 Ford Custom 1949 Woodie die-cast model. Having compared the price to buying the same model new, I've picked up a bargain. Time will tell if there's scratches or missing parts when it's delivered.
