Gondor

Received today from eBay

1 x 1/72 Hasegawa D2/ 00432 Jaguar GR Mk.1/A This started as a very low price. I ended up paying, including postage, under £15. No complaints from me about that. I also happen to have an Air-Graphice clear nose for it, just sitting in the stash doing nothing.

Bargain of the day! Airwaves I think did cast resin wings for this kit but I prefer the Airfix and Italeri kits.

Yes, Airwaves did do a set, Air-Graphics do a set, but I have two sets of Lonestar's wings, which have all the flaps, etc, hanging down and are quite likely to be of better quality.

Captain Canada

Never knew this machine existed until I visited the Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum as a guest of the late, great SWMBO Gary Porter. Gonna get a refuelling probe and be an RAF hack in my never ending Falklands build.

Not really a stash item but this lot is for a build which has been in the stash for a wee minute or two ,,,brought three tubes of Tamiya putty ...2x gray and one white ..plus a new blade for my Tamiya craft saw .,,now i can use the old blade for soft metal cutting  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Quote from: scautomoton on September 10, 2025, 02:38:47 AMFor me I tend to design bits and print them as my build progresses, so they're never really in The Stash per se

Yep, but they do make the bench  ;)  It's rather like getting a new kit and starting it as soon as you get home, it doesn't strictly make the stash, but will still get noted in this thread.

As far as I'm concerened this is the thread where people can notify all the rest of us about their latest aquisitions

Mind you, given the increasing use of 3D design/printing perhaps we should have a "just printed" thread  ;)  and I'm only half joking.

That sounds like a very sensible suggestion, might need it's own section though, not just a thread seeing that there is an increasing number of people here who are printing their own stuff.

To be honest I've been thinking about this for a while now, and my initial ideas are begining to crystalise into something slightly more solid. Hopefully I'll have something to discuss with fellow Mod's at Telford. Whilst any new idea needs to evolve I don't want it to have to be subject to that many changes along the path.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

From Air-Craft Models (arrived literally as I was tying this post!):

1/72nd B-26K Counter Invader Congo Update Set
Well since it inspired me to wonder how much Italeri B-26Ks were going for, which then led me to picked one up for £cheap, it seemed only fair to actually buy the thing...
The decals are nice: I'm paticularly looking forward to using the (uncensored) "Sh*t House Mouse" on... something...

Yup. While I might have preferred the bigger radome of the later MiG-21, this will still be interesting to follow  [/quote]

off ebay a 1/700 3D  print INS Mysore - A modernised colony class cruiser (formally HMS Nigeria) - Looks nice may build as HMS Bermuda circa 1960 and swap the lattice masts for tripod masts and use the 3D masts on a Trumpeter Belfast rather than use the kits etched brass OR may do a modernised Colony class with the guns as per Tiger class or the proposed Sea Slug conversion.

Any (or all) of these options would be most interesting to see!

From SMTF Models in Pynton:

Academy 1/72nd USN PBY-5A Catalina flying boat.

A mere £20 with the regular customer discount he gives me: absolute steal!

I've been looking at this thing for months, but thinking "no, don't do it, you don't have a plan for it, and your stash is already out of control". However I've just been bemoaning the fact over on the Beaufort discussion that High Planes' etched-brass ASV radar aerials set would cost me as much as the price tag again to get went here from Singapore. Well when I looked in the PBY box again, what did I see? ASV radar aerials, that I wouldn't have recognised three days ago, and they're not even used in this boxing of the kit

Now that just had to be done, didn't it? I mean, it would be rude to The Lady to snub her when she's in a good mood...

Received today from LoneStar

2 x 1/72 Lonestar LSR7204 Jaguar wings .

These things are exquisite! After buying his F-16XL earlier this year, I could tell that the quality would be good, but this is fantastic!

Both wings are one piece. Both are almost perfect, literally almost perfect. A swipe of a file and a couple of very small spots of filler, and that's about it! The cost, including postage, was under £20.  :o

PR19_Kit

Which Lonestar Models is that Alastair?

The only one I can find is in Texas (logically........) and he doesn't list a Jaguar wing in his range.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit
