I DO like that 2 seater Draken.

I often think the 2 seater versions of aircraft look better than their single seat originals. I like the Jaguar trainer, the Su-27 trainer, the Harrier T2 and T10, and certainly the Draken one now too, just to name a few.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Coming along well.

Yeah, one can find oneself coming to like something that has never been under consideration before - or was on the 'Nuh-Uh, Not in This Lifetime' list...  ;D

..and that IRST, possibly. I just need to dig one out. Or two, as i prefer the Hasegawa version over the Heller unit, and currently, the J35A has a Heller unit while the J35B has a Hasegawa. And it would be nice to keep them as similar as possible.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Draken is a lovely, elegant design that always looks like it's moving FAST, even when it's standing still.  ;D

As a result of all my danish F-35 Draken conversions I have two in my spare part heap - one Hasegawa and one Heller version. I can mail them to you.

Thanks a lot. That would indeed be very nice. I will send you a DM.

Thanks to @mat, not only this one, but also the J35A has gotten their IRST's. Much obliged!

That basically mean that all these three old Revell-based Drakens are ready for painting. Right. That is usually a trigger for some serious procrastination, but I'll try to fight it to the best of my ability. Or something..  :-X

These have made me want to do an upgrade 2 seater draken now, to serve with my single seater Honduras air force version.  :-X  very nice work on these

I've finally decided that these Drakens all will have the Skyflash missile. It fits too well into my timeline to be left out, so there we are. Having made my mind up, I also made and attached the launch rails, thereby completing the models for painting.

I might add the odd picture later.

Having an entire evening on my own due to circumstances, I've given all three Drakens a first coat of their two shade air superiority grey. While somewhat boring, it is where my backstory is taking me, and as that feels good, so will the greys, eventually.

Well, look at this! A neglected Draken thread!

Having gotten some inspiration lately, all three old Revell Draken projects have gotten some decals. Some of them fought me all the way, though, but I think they came down ok in the end. In particular, I think the yellow no's and hi-vis roundels turned out well on the grey camouflage. It's not entirely according to RSwAF standards, but rather a middle way. IRL, the J35J Drakens that got grey air superiority camo sported red hi-vis numbers both on the nose and on the fin, but I wanted something a little less conspicuous but yet a little more colourful than the later, all-grey JAS39 Gripen scheme.

With some luck, I might be able to get some matt varnish on them tomorrow. And then, I'll have to get to paint up some missiles.

Those look great! And the numbers and insignia look very good! With those pig's ears kits that was a lot of work.
