1/76 Mercedes L4500R Maultier *real world*

I first saw a reference article for this in an Airfix Magazine article and as it looked relatively easy I decided to give it a go.

I based it on the Thorneycroft truck from the Airfix RAF Recovery Set, as this was sufficiently 'beefy' for the purpose.
Also it was the biggest truck kit I had at the time...
I scratchbuilt an Einheits cab and made the rear tray from grooved 20 thou card and sections of Plastruct channel.

The rear running gear and tracks are Panzer 2, complete with the lower hull sides for the mountings, but with replacement sprockets from a Hasegawa Sdkfz 7 and mounted to a sub frame.

Other detailing as needed and Humbrol enamels to finish.

The aforementioned Airfix Magazine article, a set of plans in an issue of Tankette and the Milsom book 'German Wheeled Transport of WW2' were used in the making of this model.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Now where can i find a cheap SWS model  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

So I updated to Windoze11 today, and about the only issue I had was the speakers stopping working.
A quick Goggle and a tweak, and they are up and running again.

Will it work for me long term? Time will tell.
Still, no going back now.

But there is a now pretty regular 'twitch'; like something trying to load, or a momentary shut down.
I shall consult my IT guy and see if we can sort it out.

I did the update to 11 a while ago, and it seems to want to lose my printer driver every so often.  And, of course, whenever I shut down or put to sleep my laptop, the display settings revert to the laptop screen as "Screen One", not either of the 32" monitors I have it plugged into.  Its very annoying, but I think the legacy Windoze 10 was flaky to begin with, and Windoze 11 inherited that flakiness, like Hapsburg inbreeding or something.

Funny that, so does mine!  :banghead:

It's bloody irritating to be told 'Printer is off line' when both it, and my laptop and my lady love's laptop are all talking to the same router, and I can 'see' all of them if I look at the network. But I have to restart my laptop so that it can talk to the printer! Ridiculous.

Win 7 was MUCH better in this respect.

'New and Improved' sometimes just means different features bugs, if you ask me...

And thanks, George.
