Anyway, very quick backstory:

Hurricane I V6939 was delivered from % Maintenance Unit to Miles Aircraft at Woodley in January 1941 to be converted into a flying testbed to investigate asymetric aircraft design.  All military equipment (armament, gunsight, armour and even - initially - the radio) was removed.  The design's second Merlin engine was mounted in the modified fuselage of a damaged Hurricane I (records in The National Archives cannot confirm which Hurricane), while the centre wing section was a completely new component, albeit based upon the aerofoil section of the Hurricane.

V6939 first flew on 3 June 1941, completing a few circuits and bumps of Woodley aerodrome.  A handful of aerodrome circuit and local area flights were subsequently undertaken, and while the M.21 proved the feasability of asymetric design, Air Ministry interest was never more than lacklustre, and no future for the concept was percieved,

The M.21's last flight (like it's first - circuits and bumps at Woodley) was on 14 August 1941, after which the aircraft was grounded and rapidly reduced to produce.  Its remains are believed to have been unceremoniously scrapped in February 1942.

Absolutely SUPERB Dave!

Tophe would have LOVED it I'm sure. Indeed, he probably is.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
