at least you have something tangible to show for your time - recently mine has been vanishing and leaving me nothing but bank charges and crow's feet....bah.

watching you and the others build models on this site inspires me to do the same, and even if i don't get anything finished, i'll still be having a satisfying experience, sharing views and ideas with like minded individuals - friends from thousands of miles away that i wouldn't have met if not for us all being a bit....mental.

i know it might not feel like it when you're snipping and sanding, but you're ahead Barry...sometimes only a little, but often a lot!

For a kit bash like that you want the Airfix F-3 Lightning and a PM F-100, both are dirt cheap and not overly details thus enabling heavy duty butchering with out the fear of loosing fine surface detail. Especially as you'll need to remove the belly tank which is smaller and easier to remove on the F-3 than on an F-6.
