For those who need an "explanation" of various items and things, here's the pics again.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Hi,
Your build looks great.  Especially the flight deck   <_<

After gluing down the island superstructure to the flight deck, I had a major problem of a gap between the bottom of the starboard side of the island superstructure and the surface of the flight deck. You can see it in the first picture below. I'm pretty sure I explained and showed this issue before in posts long ago in this thread. No matter what I did when building the island superstructure in the past, I wasn't able to successfully correct this issue.
So my options are to either add a large or skinnier piece of styrene strip to the side of the superstructure to cover up the gap. It's the only solution I can think of.
Which looks better? A wider piece or a skinnier piece of styrene strip? And then after adding either one and painting it grey, Is there anything else I can do to the starboard side to "detail" that piece of strip or anywhere else? Any suggestions?

i would go with the larger piece, but then cut either a wavy set of scallops or  a set of lazy triangles, ( depending on your stealth style early F117 or later B2 style)  you can claim it was a letter addition that had to be added to strengthen the area due to resonance cracking, make a feature of it.      ;)

take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

'Resonance cracking.'

hmmmm, that's a handy phrase to keep in mind for backstories.

A very useful phrase that will be added to my backstory vocabulary, if I may have your permission to use it in a form of "tribute plagiarism"

Was that what was happening to the early Typhoons when the tail would break off in flight?
