The Dutch Nationals (ESM) were already one week ago. I'm slowly getting back to "normal" (As normal as I will get,,,,,,)

I had my 1/72 KLM Concorde on our stand. During the show I was already wondering where I would store this beast when I got home. I had already decided to throw it in the bin but 30 minutes before the close of the show, someone came and wanted to buy the built model. I needed little time to decide to agree.
I had planned to make some pictures of the model when I got home but now I only have this one:



This is the Airfix 1/72 kit. One word of advice to all of you: Don't buy it, don't build it, don't give it away to anyone you care about. It is an absolutely horrible kit. It doesn't fit, it has no details anywhere. Avoid it at your peril.

On the whisky side: Glendronach 16 year old . Wonderful sherry taste.

Too late, I've had one for ages, but not done anything with it apart buying lots of 'extra' things to go with it.

I'm darned if I can think how to Whiff a Concorde though, I've already done the 'longer wings and fuselage' bit on on, albeit in 1/144 scale.

Picked up some Glendalough Double Barrel Irish Yesterday.

It's been quite a long time again since I posted here. Work has been very busy in the last quarter of 2024 and there wasn't a lot of time for modelling.
The last two weeks I had a holiday and managed to get some modelling done. I decided to go for something completely different and build me some tanks. German tanks in 1/35 to be precise. As always I got carried away once I started and I now have a Panzer I, II, III, IV and V built, but without any paint on them.

I'm also investigating a series connected to the Me-163, starting with some of the early Lippisch designs and including two Japanese versions and some Luft '46 Lippisch projects.
The research led me to the earlier Bf-163 which was a competing design to the Fi-156 Storch. And I remembered that many years ago I also went there and had a kit of the Bf-163 and Siebel Si-201 "somewhere". After a lot of searching and swearing I managed to find them and started to build them. Now I only need a Fi-156 to go with them.

Looking back through these pages, I saw that I promised you some pictures of the finished '1/72 KLM Concorde kit. I brought it to the ESM show in November and during the show a guy came by and wanted to buy the finished model. After some thinking I agreed and he took my Concorde, saving me having to find a place for the rather large model. But that does mean that I only have one picture of the finished model:



I probably repeat myself, but I urge you: Don't buy one! Nothing fits!

Speaking of "challenging" kits, I also started another Unicraft one. The Sud Est SE-580 fighter. Quite an interesting aircraft and quite big for a single seat fighter. Pictures will follow.

On the whisky side of things: Tonight glass is a a Glen Elgin 12 years old. Very nice sherry cask aged whisky!

Chateau Rheged tonight:- the first dram out of a bottle of Laphroaig  CASK STRENGTH  (57% proof)  that we received as a Christmas present.  Taken with water, it was definitely a life enhancing moment.

Speaking of "challenging" kits, I also started another Unicraft one. The Sud Est SE-580 fighter. Quite an interesting aircraft and quite big for a single seat fighter. Pictures will follow.

I salute you sir for your bravery, but at least there's not many parts      You made me go and get my Unicraft Payen P.321 down from the stash again. I looked at it and put it back

It's been quite a while since I posted here. Ihave posted some progress on my K-Wagen here in the meantime. The construction of the K-Wagen is now finsihed (1310 rivets) and painting has begun.
Besides the K-Wagen i've been working on a 1/72 Airfix Buccaneer and a 1/72 Fairey Spearfish. Both will be finished in US Navy colours.

I had a 1/72 Dewoitine D-520 in my stash which I wondered what to do with. I was thinking Switzerland and when I saw Kit's VG-40 post, I thought of going one better and create a Griffon engined D-520 in Swiss service, the D-3901. I already added the Griffon engine and am thinking about enlarging the tail.
