Brill, thanks for that link.

I'd found that site but only found one pic of the Stollies, and all the ones you found were the one with the yellow cab.

I finally got around to getting some more done on this TINY model! With my hatred for very small pieces of kits I'm amazed I ever started on it really, but that's Whiffery for you, it just gets to you.....  :banghead:

After brining the kit back from my old house last weekend, the Mach2 thread triggered me into thinking about my Monterey flying bot of some years ago, and this Stalwart is meant to be its tow truck to get the 'boat into and out of the water.

Y'day I added most of the suspension parts of the left side, and what a fiddle that is. The stub axles have to be in place before you add the hubs and you can't guarantee that they're at the right angle, so it's a matter of luck if they are. Mind you, they're impossible to see once it's all built anyway, so that's not too vital. I wanted to ensure they were there though as they're the bits I had to strain gauge back in 1967 or 8, and I can't see how we ever managed to get under there to do it, but we did!

I've still got the multiple sets of dampers to add on this side yet, so that'll be this evening's job.

I think I'm stalled at the same spot on my version of this model, Kit! It's nice to know that the designers were able to add this level of detail to the model... but did they have to? Couldn't they simplify some of the assemblies just a bit?

PR19_Kit

Yeah, EXACTLY Frank!

Those stupidly small 'tie-down' loops running along the bottom of the hull, they're LESS than 1 mm wide!  :o  How the devil are you supposed to hold them to glue them on, or even pick them up anyway? I resorted to licking a finger tip and tapping the loop to pick it up, and then VERY carefully grabbing it with some needle-nosed tweezers, having pre-glued the area for each loop on the hull.

Madness.  :banghead:

Yeah, I always forget about that bit...  until the next one...

I finished mine.  I seem to have blocked out the horror of the undercarriage and it's many tiny parts.
Although I do recall something about having to do a lot of sanding to the shock absorbers to get bits of suspension to fit between and around them.

SANDING?  :o

How the hell do you sand something as small as that? They're about 1.5 mm in diameter and the longest ones are maybe 5 mm long.
