Quote...most of my models and modeling gear are packed up in boxes at my mom's place back in Canada. ... (There's also the issue of having a new girlfriend! )
Aw, crap, now I've got DROOL all over my keyboard thanks to your outstanding kitbash!!!

As for all those kits packed back home at your mom's (in Edmonton, where I am now?)...ah...YOU take care of the new Girlfriend overseas, I'll, uh, help you out with your model collection over here!!!    ;)
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

QuoteHere's what I did to stretch my P-40 fuselage:
The spine on my stretched P-40 is razor straight to the vertical stabilizer, much like a Fairey Firefly, not angled down as you have it in your drawing.
Is this better?
(your words are difficult to read for my non-fluent English speaking, I thought razor was meaning very-narrow, while your spine seems flattened, as needed to match the canopy shape... no?)

I agree with your comments on Pacific War What- Iffery Upnorth, there are many possibilities, some of the Japanese projects are fantastic.

I'm currently working on a Manchuko AF Zero used in the defence of the Manchurian steel mills against the Royal Navy's NW Carrier Strike Group in 1947

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

QuoteI would like to build the (drawing of) Upnorth 2-seat versions of my P-40/51 mix then P-51B herself.
Thanks a lot, dear Upnorth... :)
I made it, at last, in

Thanks a lot! :)  :)

QuoteTophe:
The gunner's canopy contains more framing than the pilot's, but I'm strongly considering replacing both the gunner's canopy and sliding section of pilot's canopy with a more bulged "Malcolm" type canopy for improved visibility for the MK.2.
Thanks for this idea, that I will use immediately on a P-51C-2seater, next to the one mentioned above :)

Love it Love it Love it must be my perverse attraction to Faireys. If you don't like the Monogram kit (wretched piece of twisted plastic) Arii make a nice P-40E thats reasonably priced, I made one at Christmas and it went together beautifully.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

"Not that there's anything wrong with that" (Seinfeld).

Feel the same way.  Why is it that some really ungainly a/c (Gannets, Barracuda, etc.) attract so many of us?

Must be the same thing that makes you call a really ugly little pugnosed dog "cute."

still can't get over a rear gunner in a P-40

how about a rear gunner in one of those German 46 Triebflugals?

I have the 1/72 Huma kit in my stash and am sort of thinking what to do with it

any suggestions re camo and markings?

OK Tophe: You've got the spine right this time. I should have just said "straight" sorry for the confussion.

Swamphen: I don't mind a bit if you take ideas for your own "what if" project from this.

Leigh and John: I agree with you about Fairey aircraft, they are aircraft for rubberneckers, sort of like car accidents, you don't want to look but you just can't help it. Or maybe Fairey just had a very slack attitude to drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Allan: I'm not sure about the gunner in a Treibflugal and how effective he'd be. If he's like me then ceiling fans have an oddly hypnotic effect on him and he'd just sit there in the back seat drooling as the wings went around

Seriously though, do it up in Hungarian markings. I've seen ME-109s with the big three colour chevron national insignis that they used prior to Socialism and I think that marking would look increadibly cool on the Treibflugal wings, pointing in the direction of rotation.

I'd go with the Hungarian as well Alan - I'm currently finishing my Arado E581 in those colours. looks good
