1/24 Jaguar 420G restoration or near enough
« on: August 11, 2020, 02:07:55 am »
I won a 1/24 TAT Hong Kong Jaguar MkX /420G on eBay,  it retains it's friction engine but is in need of some tlc, I also won a part built Jaguar MkII. As this was badly damaged my first thought was a four door convertible.
Strangely the Mk2 interior fits snugly into the 420G without the door cards. A little bit of cutting was needed to prise the seats from the engine
The previous owner has written his name on the 420G roof, I was thinking of a respray,  the side lights are missing and so is the central chrome pipping on the bonnet. I might be able to find a suitable replacement or just fill in the holes.
I've noticed that a lot of model cars don't have door mirrors ( me thinks these are easily broken).
