Plastic weld is probably one of the more aggressive liquid glues, certainly more so than Humbrol.

In other news, your intakes are cast and I'll get them in the post tomorrow, along with some other resin bits which may be of some use.

I'm impressed with your internal work in those wheel-bays sir

I find Plastic Weld has it's uses, but can evaporate rather quickly. I tend to use it more for smaller parts

Started to do some more on this build recently. This time working on the fuselage which now has the upper, Sea Fury, part grafted onto the Firefly lower section. Today I added sections of flat plastic rod to various parts of the fuselage where the body required to be built up due to the two different shapes. This is an attempt to reduce the amount of PSR required by mainly over filling the sections with plastic which being in a strip form is easy to match to build up layers. Pictures tomorrow to show what I have done. I have also plated over the hole behind the pilots seat as I didn't want a hole.

As promissed some more pictures.

and.....

which is very slightly out of focus, however you get the idea. Obviously lots of PSR ahead  but the first part where I use a file and grinding/sanding with a mini drill are the parts I really like ;D

A lot of sanding took place yesterday and as you can see there still needs to be more plastic planking added.

The angle I took the pictures at is not the best but you get the idea.

Not too worried about the area just above the wing roots where the cockpit section overhangs the orijonal fuselage as the inboard section of the wings have been extended with plastic card so are probably not going to match up to the existing wing root.

P38 is your friend.

Apart from your nose......
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Well, there's a lot of masks about these days for some reason.

Never used P38 and see no reason to add another item to my list of bit's and peices I use. This model is takeing this techneque further than I have used it befor which I think is a good thing as I may need to use this later.

More plastic strip added, sanding tonight!

Considering removeing the seat and reworking the cockpit includeing makeing a canopy, just thoughts at the moment as I am not 100% happy about the height the seat looks.

So quite a bit of sanding took place today, haveing a new corse flexifile helps though.

I didn't expect everything to go as well as it did. Large parts worked out better than expected although there is a slight depression from just forward of the rear join to just about the forward end of the planking so I may get some P38 and try that out as I need something smooth enough to not exactly flow, but will manage to come off when I use a streight edge so scrape away excess material.

Beg your pardon, but what's a P38, besides this? And the Lightning, of course.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

P38 is a car body filler which several of the other moddellers on here use a lot.
