Of course you can tell us about a real world build here!  You can even build it in RAF markings, this article may be of interest:- https://spyflight.co.uk/operations/#Jiu_Jitsu   It might even confuse the ranks of the revolting pedantry.   The whole of that site is worth exploring.

Fascinating stuff went down with the Tornadoes. I remember reading about all that jive and it was one big exercise in subterfuge. Quite glorious.

A fine selection! I note a couple of flying saucers in the box art  in addition to a Ratte and a couple of mice (mausen?)  I'm sure the 1/700 naval material is fascinating, but my Japanese is non-existent so I can't quite tell what they are.  I look forward to seeing what you do with/to them.

Which makes one wonder why they'd need the absurd Landkreuzer.

I think that explains a great deal about German "super" weapons and have said so on numerous occasions.

Last night at the club meeting we had our Lucky Dip competition. I kind of regret not keeping my first pick which happened to be the one I put in but that wouldn't be fair!
I came home with the Matchbox Comet tank complete with diorama base. It has to be brush painted, no sprays allowed!  :-\

The back of the box does say No Painting Necessary but I doubt I'd get away with it!

I built most of that Matchbox armour when it first came out, it was certainly a refreshing change to the stuff we'd had previously in that scale

I think you're being a bit harsh on the kit, Nick.

Give it a little TLC, & I reckon you'll have a great little tank dio very quickly.

The secret is not in the brushes, but rather in the WASHES on the kit! I mostly build/paint all my kits with enamels and by brush, and esp. on tanks the finish is rather achieved through dry-brushing (as the name suggests...), a dark-brown washing all over and maybe some dry pigments added to the lower areas. An airbrush is IMHO hardly needed, esp. at the small scales.

To be fair I'll have more chance of getting away with brush painting a tank than an aircraft. Plus the addition of mud splashes and such will help.
I'm more worried about painting the base itself!

Nah, just some dry-brushing onto a base coat, too.  ;) At 1:76, you do not have to worry about recognizable dust. Never over-think dioramas and landscapes, the simpler things are made, the more convincing they are most of the time. Just avoid typical model railroad stuff like dyed moss - rather take a walk and collect some stuff from real nature, e.g. lichens, some bark or thin branches (to replace the plastic tree stump on the base).
