Wasn't the Desert AF one a Tomahawk rather than Kittyhawk/Warhawk ? I can remember the box top but not exactly what was in it.

The Hasegawa kit I have is an RAF Kittyhawk Mk.I in desert scheme

My order for an Academy 1/72 F-35B was at the post office today --- so Chris, if you're wondering -- it's a fantastic kit, lots of detail parts and a full loadout including the gun pod. It comes in a surprisingly big box, which is fully packed with sprues.

Snaffled some more Victor stencilling on ebay for my rebuilds.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Received today from The Aviation Hobby Store

1 x 1/72 Wesses HC.2 Conversion Set by www.DF-HELOSUFF.de whome I would have ordered direct from but I don't understand German so looked at TAHS to see if they had one

Very nice mainly resin and 3D printed parts to convert the Italeri UH-34 family into the Wessex HC.2's as the window size is correct where the HAS.3 & HU.5 have larger windows. The 3D printed parts are  the steps up to the crew area and the engine exhausts.

Ordered today four resin conversion sets from Silesian Models in 1:72 for various ideas/projects:
- For an M1128 Stryker
- Upper hull and turret for a US T54E2 prototype MBT
- A conversion for an E-100 heavy tank into a Bergepanzer/ARV
- An M108 conversion set for the Revell M109 howitzer - but to be used in a very different project

Much to my surprise and delight, I have just acquired a Matchbox Wellesley from a charity shop in Hereford. Box still has the original seals, unopened, and only £1.99.  It will become an ultra long range reconnaissance machine, probably operating in the Middle East, or possibly in the Carribbean .......backstory currently in planning.

If you should happen to pass the  British Heart Foundation shop in Eign Gate in Hereford, they say that they have just received 6 large boxes of kits as a donation......my Wellesley came from the top layer of the first box.   I'll be looking in there regularly as further boxes are unpacked....unless the rest of you get there first.

If you were to go on a ‘fact finding mission’ to said shop, make an inventory and post it up.....

I'm going into Hereford on Tuesday.  I'll see what can be done.

I've just been into Hereford, and I regret that I was grossly  mis-informed by the young man in BHF last visit .  The true story is :- 6 donated boxes of various books, clothes, bric a brac and kits: only  the top layers of the largest box being kits. The local Air Cadets had someone in this morning that bought all of the  remaining reasonable stuff, leaving only a dozen or so partially started, glue-bombed  kits.   My apologies for incorrectly building up peoples hopes  .  It seemed too good to be true, and has indeed turned out to be so....................................curses, foiled again.

I've been told by a staff in a couple of different charity shop (big ones) that their organisation is wise to the kit market and have instructions to put any they get on ebay to get a decent price. A couple of things I've bought off ebay were being sold by charity shops too, which seems to bear this out.

MtY: I don't know man, I didn't do it.

Indeed so, one of the source kits for my 'Secret Prototype' car build came from the British Red Cross. I was pleased on two counts in buying it, 1) I got a kit I wanted at a sensible price and 2) The profits went to a good cause.

One of the charity shops in the Crystal Palace Triangle (there are at least 6) has one of its "Premium" outlets. Sells all the quality clothing it's received from there, mainly women's, and some off the prices are ....  :-X, but I'm assured by a lady friend that they are still exceptional value.

Good for them I say

Just remembered the charity is St Christopher's Hospice
