Thanks folks.
I forgot to say, the nose is the tip of a bomb from a 1/48 Me 262.

Apart from being an odd shape the canopy has the framing moulded on the inside as engraved detail.  I painted it on the inside by running paint into the depressions.  This proved very easy to do but none of the rivet detail was visible from the outside.  Nice smooth exterior finish though.

I now have four starfighter wings in the Wings & Fuselages parts box.  Some sort of X wing might be on the cards.

Lovely, I esp. like the tandem landing gear. I am just not certain about the missile pods right under the air intakes - firing them could be quite hazardous for the engine...?

I saw some weird X-wing the other day.... I think they used a 109 fuselage. It was pretty cool.  ;D

There's something really British in the GuL-38 nose section. But then the gear reminds me of not Harrier, but the French planes from the 1950's. And the whole still looks like Yak-38.

Well played, sir, well played.

That's not what I saw, but that is VERY cool. I think what I saw was actually a digital "painting" or whatever. I almost saved it for here but let it go. Woops!

Maybe, but those are stock F-104 hard point locations where IIRC they carried sidewinders.

But not directly under the intakes; German (and other) F-104G's carried a twin launch rail for Sidewinders under the fuselage, though, so that the wingtips could hold tanks for some extra miles.

I just have doubts about all the exhaust fumes from a full salvo of unguided missiles and their effects on the engine... But it's whifworld, after all.  ;)

Now the plan view of that 109 X Wing is interesting  I won't comment on what it looks like as an X Wing as I'm afraid it's just not my thing. However a jet powered 109 canard ? Could look good.

Turned out looking great Fred, I had doubts that I'd like the combo but you proved me wrong.  ;D well built as usual.

I like the look of that 109 x-wing, going to save a copy of that.

Thanks Brad F.
Half way through building this I got to wondering how Swift wings would look...
